A Solid Nancy Drew Adventure,
I’ve played almost all of the Nancy Drew games. This one is very atmospheric. Nancy goes to Ireland to attend her friend’s wedding in a wrecked castle but the groom goes missing. Nancy must find out what happened. As always you pick either junior detective–more clues, checklist, Ned, Bess, and George to call for hints or senior detective mode. Nancy Drew games aren’t easy adventures. If you need extra help just google a walkthrough.
You get to explore the castle, it’s not very big, and roam the grounds at night. Some of the challenges are a bit exasperating like dealing with sheep, finding your way through a bog, and playing a drum at the local pub, etc., but again, that’s pretty typical for a ND game.
I certainly wasn’t expecting the ending. Some people have a problem with it but, hey, the wilder the better!

|Oustanding installment in one of the best series,
With respect, I must vehemently disagree with those who claim this game has “no instructions.” The very first screen of the game has a whole “book” of instructions. There are also two settings (Junior or Senior Detective)–Junior helps you through the game by providing an ongoing checklist that expands as you progress through the game, and the game also takes notes for you to assist with solving puzzles. Additionally, the HeR Interactive web site has a message board community full of tips and hints, plus a huge number of members who are on seemingly at all hours and willing to lend a helping hand.
Now, these games are a bit more challenging than “hidden object” games–for those try the Nancy Drew Dossier series.
It’s actually been refreshing to play these games–HeR Interactive respects you enough to assume that, if you love mysteries, you have a brain in your head that you like to use to figure things out, whether with a lot of help or flying solo.
Check out the reviews on this site for the boxed PC games, and you’ll hear the same from others.

|Good but there are better Nanacy Drew Games,
I have played better Nancy Drew games but overall this one is pretty good. There are a couple of puzzles that are cumbersome to complete but that is pretty typical for these. Moderately challenging game and fun to play. Worth the price of the download.
