I liked the fact that this book does not focus overly on Obama’s biography. He is our American President and I am proud to have voted for him along with millions of other Americans. His background and race, while interesting, are but only one part of the man.
This book is a good lesson in civics. Although obviously written with the young reader in mind, I found it to be a very interesting read (I’m almost 40). The book is beautifully illustrated and simply flows from page to page. I bought it for my 16 year old son who is a huge Obama fan and he read it in one siting.

What a graphical way to re-live the 2008 presidential election. Easily one of the best Obama book I have purchased yet – trust me, I have bought quite a few of them. This book tells a chronological story of Obama’s journey to power, starting with his announcement to run for president and culminating in his inauguration. Each page is laid out with an accompanying illustration and is meant to tell a story as well as educate the reader about American presidential civics.
This is a well illustrated book, and very easy to read. The questions at the end of the book are probably meant for younger readers. I think this book is excellent for teaching kids and young adults about the political process.
